Raesonia

After more than two decades of perseverance, Raesonia Swain has successfully completed her final GED® test section in 2026 — fulfilling not only a lifelong personal goal, but also a promise she made to her parents.

Raesonia first enrolled in adult education in 2003, motivated by a desire to earn her GED and create new opportunities for herself. As a learner with dyslexia, she faced significant challenges with reading comprehension and mathematics, which made academic progress especially difficult. Although life required her to step away from the program at times, the goal of earning her GED — and the promise she made to her mother and father — never left her.

In 2021, Raesonia returned to adult education with renewed determination. While she made progress, life circumstances once again required her to pause before completing all GED sections. Rather than seeing this as failure, Raesonia viewed it as part of a longer journey.

Her final return came in August 2025, fueled by a deep personal commitment to keep her word. With her mother now deceased, completing her GED carried even greater meaning. Math remained her most challenging subject, bringing moments of frustration — but she held firmly to one belief: “I am not giving up.”

Through consistent effort, hands-on instructional support, and perseverance, Raesonia worked through each remaining subject area. In 2026, she passed her final GED® test section. She describes earning her GED as the greatest accomplishment of her life.

Now, Raesonia is looking ahead with confidence and plans to continue her education, with interests in nursing or X-ray technology.

Her message to others considering the GED:

“It’s never too late. You can struggle through with hard work and commitment. If you want it for yourself, you will continue to strive and fulfill your hopes and dreams.”

We are incredibly proud of Raesonia and honored to be part of her journey.
